Innerform is an interior architecture firm creating spaces that answer an essential question: What is home?

Each project begins by uncovering the essence that define you—your favorite memories, your values, your passions, and how you seek to feel within a space.

We translate these intangibles through a precise, pragmatic spatial language, resulting in bespoke, layered environments that are expressive of those who inhabit them.

[ Our Processes ]

  • We begin with an immersive dialogue to understand the specific rhythms of our clients’ lives. By translating personal narratives and daily rituals into a cohesive design language, we ensure every architectural decision is rooted in the inhabitant's unique perspective. This phase culminates in a curated concept defined by emotive sketches, tactile moodboards, and precise architectural references.

  • During this phase, the concept takes physical form. We focus on rigorous space planning and preliminary 3D modeling to test volumes and flow. This is where we establish the primary materiality and the initial direction for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) to ensure the backbone of the project is sound.

  • We transition from the big picture to the technical reality. This stage involves the production of detailed floor plans, elevations, and a comprehensive drawing set. We finalize all material finishes and refine the FFE selection, ensuring every architectural detail aligns with the original vision.

  • Precision is paramount. We generate a comprehensive FFE schedule that serves as the definitive manual for the project. Every item, from custom furniture to decorative lighting, is documented with exact dimensions, finishes, and technical requirements to ensure a seamless transition to purchasing.

  • We manage the complex logistics of bringing the design to life. Our team handles the entire lifecycle of the FFE budget: from issuing purchase orders and managing vendor relations to tracking lead times and coordinating white-glove warehousing. We act as the steward of your investment throughout the buying process.

  • We maintain a constant presence on-site and in the studio, collaborating closely with the architect of record and the general contractor. By reviewing submittals and conducting site visits, we ensure that the architectural intent is executed to our exacting standards and that any field conditions are resolved with design integrity.

  • The transformation occurs here. We oversee the delivery and placement of all FFE, managing the logistics of "move-in day" to ensure every piece is handled with care. Our team remains on-site to direct the white-glove assembly and placement of every element within the home.

  • The final layer of the project involves the art of the "lived-in" space. We curate art, accessories, and personal objects that add soul to the architecture. This phase typically concludes with a professional photoshoot, capturing the completed vision in its most refined state.

Based in New York City, we oversee every detail from concept to delivery, regardless of a project’s scale or location.

We design for longevity, anchoring our work in master craftsmanship, natural materials, and the character of timeworn objects.

By collaborating with a trusted network of experts built over a decade in the industry, from contractors to art advisors, we create homes that serve the nuances of daily life while maintaining a sophisticated allure.

[ Creative Director - Alex Gong ]

Co-Founder Alex Gong balances architectural rigor with a cinematic approach to storytelling, creating environments that serve as the definitive backdrop for a life of curated intent. An alumna of the New York School of Interior Design and a recipient of the Rising Star in Hospitality Design award, she has spent over a decade shaping global luxury.

Alex began her career at the legendary Tony Chi, where she contributed to landmark projects including the Rosewood Hong Kong. Since joining Rockwell Group in 2017, she has led the design for a diverse portfolio of high-end hospitality and residential commissions. Her selected work includes the W New York - Union Square, the Fairmont New Orleans, the atmospheric Cathédrale restaurant in New York, and the St. Regis Private Residences in Miami, among other global destinations.

Alex approaches each commission as a bespoke narrative, balancing the technical demands of modern innovation with a granular commitment to materiality and craft. She ensures that every project is not only a functional success but a materialized vision.

[ Studio Director - Elle Liu ]

Co-Founder Elle Liu brings a rare, three-dimensional perspective to the studio, grounding creative vision in the practical realities of project management and construction. Her approach is informed by a dual background from the Pratt Institute, where she earned both a Bachelor of Industrial Design and an MFA in Interior Design.

Elle began her career at AERIN, the lifestyle brand of Aerin Lauder, where she developed multiple collections of bespoke fixtures and home decor. After years of collaborating with Alex at Rockwell Group, she moved into the high-stakes realm of luxury development at SHVO. There, she expertly bridged the gap between design and construction for world-class landmarks, ranging from the Mandarin Oriental Private Residences on Fifth Avenue to the Raleigh Rosewood Residences and the historic restoration of the former Coca-Cola Building.

Having worked as a maker, a designer, and a developer, Elle understands every side of the building process. She ensures that even the most ambitious concepts are delivered with technical precision, serving as the bridge between a design on paper and a living sanctuary.

We partner with our clients as co-conspirators, sharing the belief that design is a collaborative effort between those who create and those who experience.
